The Telmar Flash Drive is easy and quick to install and fits in a 3.5-inch or 5.25-inch SCSI drive disk form factor slot.
Telmar has recently launched a replacement Solid State Disk (SSD) for service providers to upgrade their switching system. The Telmar Flash Drive (TFD) is an integrated solution that utilizes proven SCSI drive architecture and industry-standard Compact Flash Card technology to provide a solid state, drop-in replacement for electro-mechanical hard drives. Not only is the TFD is cost efficient, it’s also less likely to fail than a standard hard drive due to its high reliability and solid state with no moving parts.
The TFD is currently available in two physical packagings: Hard Disk Drive (HDD) replacement with no external removable storage device and Magneto-Optical (MO) or tape drive replacement with externally removable CF memory card slot. The TFD emulates the operation of a SCSI hard drive disk and requires no additional software for operation due to its SCSI data storage/bootable drive. This fast and efficient field replace allows service providers to have a quick, low-cost flash memory solution for their legacy system through TFD’s configurable firmware that matches legacy systems software. The TFD is quick and easy to integrate and has been deployed and proven in many platforms.
